Harvest Share Subscription Program

You can cultivate a community without need.

By simply buying fresh, homegrown goodness for your family from The Farm, you can plant seeds of compassion and grow positive change in Northwest Arkansas.

It’s simple.

The Farm gives you the opportunity to buy one, give one.

One Farm subscription purchase simultaneously provides a year’s worth of healthy food for your family and for your neighbors in need – the people in your own back yard, the ones you may never have met but care for deeply.

for more information on how you can serve with your family, please contact Farm@CobblestoneProject.org

What does The Farm subscription include?

For the 2011 growing season (May/June to November), you will receive a weekly lug.  Each subscription comes with one lug.

What’s a lug?

It’s a plastic container that you will receive your fresh produce in. Simply bring your lug to one of our distribution points every week, and we will trade it for a lug full of the week’s harvest.

What’s in the lug?

The lug will be filled each week with a diverse portion of what was harvested from The Farm that week.  The contents of the lug will closely follow the crop schedule (on the right).  We are also in the process of adding chickens to The Farm, so once eggs are being produced those will be added each week.

With God’s grace and a bountiful harvest, each week could see approximately 5 to 10 lbs worth of fresh, locally grown food included in the lug.  However, since you are purchasing a share, the exact amount of produce will not be known until harvest.

During the peak of growing season, June-Aug, you could receive larger amounts per week during the summer months, filled with corn, tomatoes, eggs and all the other produce that is perfect for this laid back summer months (see crop production schedule in the right column).  During the colder months that are difficult to grow in, we are hoping to have eggs, honey, and/or firewood.

Other perks of your Farm subscription include a pumpkin during the fall for your front porch and family friendly events at The Farm.

(We appreciate your patience and grace in advance, since weather and natural elements are not predictable. We can’t guarantee one type of crop, but will try our best to give you a wide variety of yummy, fresh food for you and your family throughout the year)

How much does it cost?

Each share costs $500.  This breaks down to a minimum of $250 of homegrown produce for your family and $250 of fresh food for local needs.  $250 of each share is considered tax-deductible.  Please note that there are only 100 shares available and will be sold to those on a first come, first served basis.

(follow link to purchase your share in the Cobblestone Project Store via Credit Card)

What are the options to pay for a Farm subscription?

Currently, there are three methods to purchase a subscription to The Farm.  You may visit the Cobblestone Project Farm Store and pay via Paypal or Credit Card, or you may mail a check along with this Cobblestone Project – Donation Form.

Unfortunately, we do not currently have a monthly installment plan; however, please contact us if needed.

Can I choose to donate my entire subscription purchase?

Yes! Just let us know when you sign up and we will ensure that your share is directed to aid our hunger relief efforts in NW Arkansas.

How is the food grown?

We make every effort to grow all The Farm’s produce both consumer and environmentally safe. All crops are grown eco-friendly and using sustainable agricultural practices.

What organizations will The Farm donate fresh food to?

Potter’s House, Samaritan Community Center, Seven Hills Homeless Shelter, Helping Hands, LifeSource & working with Fayetteville & Bentonville Public Schools to implement our Gift Card Program.

If you would like to add your organization to our list of organizations, please send an email to TheFarm@CobblestoneProject.org

How can I really ‘Be a Farmer’ and help grow food?

You can volunteer at The Farm, bring your family, or have an afternoon of service for your small group or organization. All ages and abilities are welcome. All we ask is that you that you come prepared to get a little dirty, listen to a few instructions, and get to know the fellow farmers on the row next to you.

Follow this link to see the next opportunity to volunteer at The Farm.

What if I’ve never cooked a fresh bean in my life and they’re in my lug?

Any suggestions on what do? We’re working with local chefs to create recipes based on each lug’s contents. You’ll never wonder what to do with any vegetable that is new to your palette.

Corporate Partnership Opportunities

What if I love the idea of The Farm so much that I want to get my company involved?

What corporate opportunities are there? You can buy a row at The Farm and we’ll make sure a small sign with your company’s information goes next to it.  Your company is also welcome at The Farm as a group, donating your time to serve those in need through The Farm.  You can purchase produce for your company and even host your own Farmer’s Market at your office.

I’m a restaurant and would love to get involved. Interested in a certain crop for your restaurant?

We’d love to grow it for you and see The Farm on your menu. Let us know what you’d like grown and we’ll plant it.

If you have any questions, please contact us at info@cobblestoneproject.org.
