The Cafe
As many of you are aware, The Cafe holds a very special place in the heart of our community. It is a story that emerged from a small group of people with a box of frozen bananas to an initiative that feeds on average 150 people a week at the Samaritan Community Center.
As the initiative has grown and moved locations to serve more people, it has been necessary to evolve the operational support of the initiative. Therefore, in order to ensure that the correct organizational foundation is in place, The Cafe is now being run by the staff of the Samaritan Community Center. This was done to 1) fully integrate The Cafe into existing Samaritan Community Center operations and 2) to allow the Cobblestone Project to focus it’s efforts on the production of food at The Farm.

We ask that you continue to support The Cafe because right now in the US, it is estimated that over 36 million people suffer from hunger. That’s 1 in 8 of us! We are really excited about the path ahead and look forward to supply larger amounts of food from The Farm to The Cafe. We ask that you continue to engage in both of these initiatives because they only work with your help.
